Peter Sena was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1963. During his senior year at La Salle High School in Pasadena, Peter joined the Los Angeles Aztecs youth team. Here he caught the eye of Jaime Ramirez who recommended Fresno Pacific. Following graduation from La Salle in 1982, Peter enrolled at FPC.

His athleticism and versatility became key assets in the Sunbirds’ run toward the NAIA National Championship tournament. He earned NAIA District Three Honorable Mention status as a freshman striker in 1982. In 1983 and 1984, he earned NAIA District Three honors as a defender, and again in 1985 as a midfielder. He is one of only eight FPC players to be named to the District Three Team four times. His Sunbirds’ teams won District Three championships in 1983 and 1985 and earned three consecutive trips to the NAIA National Championship Tournament (1983, 84, 85). Twice his teams finished second in the NAIA National Championship (1984, 85). On both occasions the Sunbirds fell in the championship match in sudden-death overtime.

With Peter in the lineup, the Sunbirds compiled an impressive 58-22-8 record with a .705 winning ratio. Despite only one full season as a striker, he managed to score 16 goals and total 44 points in his career. He earned NAIA All-America Honorable Mention accolades as a junior in 1984, and he was named to the NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team the same season. He completed a bachelor of arts in 1987 and embarked on a career in business.

Peter and Alisa Brown, a FPC classmate, were married in 1989 and settled in Fresno. Peter is a dedicated husband and father of four children: Tyler, Tori, Trey and Trent. He is an entrepreneur and successful business owner, serves the community as a youth soccer coach and in a variety of ministries at the Riverpark Bible Church.
