One of the most versatile athletes in the history of Fresno Pacific,
Ben Bogdanof was the NAIA champion in the decathlon two years in a row and became the first FPU track & field athlete to win Outstanding Performer of the Meet honors at the national championships. He was a three-time national champion, eight-time All-American, five-time GSAC champion and two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete.
He made an immediate impact his freshman year, taking All-GSAC in the 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles and long jump, but did not compete in the decathlon, instead dedicating the year to learning each of the events.
As a sophomore he won the javelin at the GSAC championships for his first conference title. After winning All-GSAC honors again by taking second in both the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles, Bogdanof finished fourth in the NAIA to earn All-American honors in the decathlon.
As a junior he won the GSAC javelin title again and placed second in both hurdles events, also earning All-GSAC honors in the long jump and the discus. He placed second in the NAIA Indoor Pentathlon before winning the national title in the decathlon at the NAIA outdoor championships with 6,815.
He would take home three GSAC titles his senior year, winning the javelin (215' 11"), 110 hurdles (14.58) and 400 hurdles (55.16). He was the leading overall scorer at the meet after also taking home All-GSAC honors in the high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put and discus.
At the NAIA championships he would win the individual title in the javelin before dominating the competition in the decathlon with a school record 6,936 points.
