RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – Strong singles play paced the No. 2  Sunbirds' 8-1 victory over Westmont in Rancho Mirage, CA on Saturday afternoon.

Fresno Pacific (11-0, 8-0 GSAC) stays undefeated for the year, while Westmont drops to 2-10 (1-7 GSAC).

Senior Marco Foelz clinched the match for the Sunbirds in singles when he defeated Kent Stormans 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

The Warriors picked up their only point of the day at No. 1 doubles when Bryan Cox and Arthur Kalayjian beat the Sunbird team of Vicente Joli/Nicolas Ernst, 8-5.

The Sunbirds begin the second half of GSAC play on the road at 4th-ranked Cal Baptist (8-1, 6-1 GSAC) on Thursday, March 19th at 3:30pm. 

Fresno Pacific defeated the Lancers by a close 7-2 score on February 14th at the Haak Tennis Center.
