FULLERTON, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific stunt reveled in their collegiate debut on Wednesday and continued to build their momentum on Day one of the Royal Rumble. The Sunbirds completely shutout Park University with their first scoreless win of the season, 12-0. However, Hope International was a challenging foe for the 'Birds, shortening their victory lap with a score of 2-25 to end the first day.

"So proud of this group of young ladies," said first-year head coach Alyssa Troutt. "They showed up we did exactly what we came to do. Every time they take the mat, they grow stronger, more confident, resilient. This team is building something special 

GAME 1 | FPU 12, PARK 0

Park University was held scoreless across all four quarters as the Sunbirds delivered a dominant performance from start to finish. Fresno Pacific set the tone early, earning two points apiece in Partner Stunts, Pyramids and Tosses, and Jumps and Tumbling to build steady momentum. When the final quarter arrived, the Blue and Orange left no doubt, adding six more points to seal the victory over the Pirates.

GAME 2 | FPU 2, HIU 25

The second match was a complete reversal of the first. At the very beginning, Hope International took the lead with five points to the Sunbirds' one. Valiant attempts were made by Fresno Pacific, but the Royals continued to sweep the judges off their feet with their routines. Despite earning zero points during Pyramids and Tosses, Fresno Pacific came back in the third quarter with their second point. By the end of the third, Hope had bumped their lead significantly, 2-13. The final quarter was a challenge for FPU as the Royals gained twelve additional points to win the match.

NEXT UP: Fresno Pacific heads into Day two of the Royal Rumble, facing Trevecca Nazarene at 4 pm and Arizona Christian at 6 pm on Saturday afternoon.
