FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Devin Balbach as Director of Cheer and Dance.  She will begin her new role on March 2.

"We are thrilled to welcome Devin as our new Director of Cheer and Dance," said FPU Director of Athletics Kyle Ferguson. "Her hiring reflects our deep commitment to elevating cheer and dance as a cornerstone of the Sunbird experience. We are excited to amplify our gamedays and position our cheer program to compete at the highest level." 

Balbach brings over a decade of competitive coaching experience and a deep passion for student-athlete development. For the past 12 years she served as Head Coach of Varsity Competition Cheer at Clovis North High School, leading the team to six CIF Central Section championships and four USA national titles. She also spent the last four years as Director of the Cheer and Dance program for Clovis North as well as Granite Ridge Intermediate.
 
USASF-certified to Level 6, Balbach has coached all-star cheer for Pyramid Athletics. Her team will compete later this year in the Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando.
 
"I'm truly passionate about cheerleading and honored to share that passion with FPU's student-athletes," Balbach commented. "I can't wait to help them reach their full potential, both on and off the mat. I am so excited for this opportunity to join the FPU family, let's go Sunbirds!"
 
Balbach graduated from Fresno State University with a bachelor's in Liberal Studies as well as a master's in Higher Education Administration and Leadership.
