ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds earned fifth place at the USA National Collegiate Championships in the College Game Day Situational Sideline Cheer and College Game Day Band Chant Division Saturday at the Anaheim Convention Center. 

"I am extremely proud of this team and their hard work with season" said head coach Rayna Harris

The USA National Collegiate Championships is the biggest college cheer competition on the west coast.

A total of 11 schools were in the Situational Sideline Cheer division along with the 'Birds.

The competition was a mixture of schools from all NCAA divisions as well as co-ed teams. 

In both of their routines, the Sunbirds were hit with zero deductions, performing their routines without any penalties or mistakes earning them the fifth place trophy.

"We went up against a lot of really talented teams today and we are so happy to be bringing home some hardware" added Harris. "We worked all season for those two minutes on the mat, and their hard work and dedication showed."
