ANAHEIM, Calif.- It was a third-place finish for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds Cheer team this past weekend at the USA (United Spirit Association) Collegiate Championships at the Anaheim Convention Center. 

The 'Birds competed in the College Game Day Division in the Situational Sideline Cheer division and Band Chant division, placing third in the College Game Day Situational Sideline Cheer division behind the University of Idaho who took top spot, and the College of Southern Idaho who took second. Both Sunbirds' routines were clean and hit with zero deductions. 

"We are extremely proud to have placed in the top three," said head coach Rayna Harris. "Our goal was to hit a clean routine and be better than last year, and we did just that. Last year we took fifth, so to move up two spots in something we are extremely proud of, this team worked hard all season, and it showed on the mats." 

You can catch your Fresno Pacific Cheer team tonight at both the women's and men's basketball games, with a ceremony to honor seniors Micah Barkenhagen, Amari Lynn, and Laury Ann Duyst at halftime of the men's game.
