TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its latest regional and national rankings on Wednesday morning, and Fresno Pacific tennis made a strong impression with multiple players earning top spots among the best in the nation and the West Region.
On the women's side, freshman Fabiana Gonzalez led the way for the Sunbirds, earning a No. 20 national ranking and placing 2nd in the West Region in singles. Junior Yume Ueoku also made her mark, coming in at No. 12 in the West Region for singles play.
In doubles action, Ueoku and Jessica McLean landed at No. 5 in the West Region, while Gonzalez and Halle Faherty followed closely behind at No. 8, highlighting the Sunbirds' impressive depth and chemistry on the court.
For the men's team, freshman Jordi Gonzalez earned a spot among the region's best with a No. 16 singles ranking in the west region, while the duo of Cedric Kaufmann and Joaquin Salinas captured national recognition, coming in at No. 24 in the nation and No. 4 in the West Region for doubles.
