FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team picked up another PacWest Conference victory on Tuesday night, defeating Hawai'i Pacific 6-3 at Ramirez Field. With one game left in the regular season, the Sunbirds remain in the hunt for a spot in the NCAA West Regional.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU started the scoring early, but the Sunbird back line struggled in the early going, allowing the Sharks to find the equalizer.
• The Sunbirds stayed in an offensive rhythm for the duration of the first half, scoring another four goals before the intermission.
• The Sharks added a pair of scores in the second half, but the damage had been done, giving the Sunbirds their fourth straight win.

Joao Ravasio sent a ball over the top to find
Eric Sanchez, who followed with a quick chip into the box to find
Anthony Velarde for the score.
• (13:47) Zen Roten connected with Luis Garcia to give the Sharks the equalizer, sending a ball to the right of the keeper.

Juan Gonzalez and
Sergio Bermudez teamed up inside the box, regaining the lead for the Blue and Orange.
• (25:07) Velarde's corner kick led Ravasio perfectly, and Ravasio fired from just outside the box for his fifth score of the year.

Pak Hei Chan and Velarde made quick flicks to get the ball to Ravasio, who launched from seven yards outside the box for his second score of the night.
• (41:30) Chan and Velarde linked up again, finding
Isaiah Asencio just outside the right post for the final score of the first half.
• (47:32) A Ravasio free kick connected with the head of
Caesar Angulo, who tallied his first career score.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• FPU outshot their hosts 16-14, including a mark of 8-7 in shots on frame.

Patrick Timmer totaled four saves for the Sunbirds before giving way to
Logan Dinsdale for the final 16 minutes.

• Velarde has tallied an assist or a goal in all but two Sunbird games this season, and he remains atop the PacWest leaderboard with 38 total points.
• Fresno Pacific continues to keep themselves in the playoff hunt and rank sixth in the West Regional standings heading into the final game of the regular season.
