Men's basketball falls to No.1 Concordia

IRVINE, CA. - The No. 23 ranked Fresno Pacific men's basketball team was unable to keep up with No. 1 Concordia University Saturday night, falling to the Eagles 84-51 in GSAC Tournament play. 

CUI got out to an early 19-point lead after hitting four three-pointers in the opening nine minutes, and cruised onto the 33-point semifinal victory, the Eagles' eleventh in a row.

Senior guard James Lewis Jr. led FPU in scoring with 17 points while nabbing 5 rebounds. Senior guard Adrian Hernandez and senior forward Craig Ash also contributed with double-digit performances at 10 points apiece.

With the loss, the Sunbirds are bounced from the GSAC Tournament with a 24-8 overall record, but will likely be one of the 32 teams heading to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship March 17-23 in Kansas City, Mo.
