FRESNO, CA. - The No. 15 ranked Sunbirds fell just short of upsetting No. 2 Concordia University, losing to the the Eagles 63-59 Saturday afternoon at FPU's Special Events Center.
Senior forward
Todd Brown led Fresno Pacific in scoring with 14 points on the night, and snatched 6 rebounds.
Senior guards
Jesse Childs and
James Lewis Jr. also contributed with 12 points apiece, while fellow senior guard
Adrian Hernandez put up 10 points to round out the double-digit scorers.
The Eagles led 29-20 at the half, and proved to be too much for the Sunbirds down the stretch.

Our kids fought hard," said FPU head coach Jim Saia, "but we didn't make enough offensive plays and we had a couple of breakdowns in the second half when we didn't get defensive stops after we scored."'
With the loss, Fresno Pacific falls to 22-7 overall, and 12-7 in GSAC play.
The Sunbirds host The Master's on this coming Monday, March 1st at the Special Events Center, and a win combined with a Westmont loss to Azusa Pacific can secure a berth in the NAIA national tournament.
