FRESNO, CA. - Senior guard
James Lewis Jr led the way for the Sunbird men's basketball team with 34 points and 9 rebounds, as FPU was victorious over visiting Vanguard 97-84 Thursday evening.
After a slow start and trailing 46-40 at the half, Fresno Pacific reorganized and came from behind to defeat a pesky Lions squad.
In addition to Lewis' stellar performance, the Sunbirds had three more players shoot in double figures to chip in.
Senior guard
Jesse Childs put up 17 points, senior forward
Todd Brown had 16, and senior guard
Alex Davenport netted 13 on the night.
The Lions were led by Greg Scott who posted a game-high 35 points, and nabbed 5 rebounds.
With the win, Fresno Pacific makes it five in-a-row and improves 19-5 overall, and 9-5 in conference play while Vanguard drops to 5-16 overall, and 4-11 in GSAC competition.
