FRESNO, CA. - The Fresno Pacific men's basketball team won big this afternoon against California Baptist, routing the Lancers 80-39 in FPU's Special Events Center. The Sunbirds jumped out to a 32-16 halftime lead and continued to build momentum as the game progressed for the eventual 41-point victory.
"Tonight we played as well as we have all year," FPU assistant coach
Chris Wright said. "We really defended and if we continue to do that we are going to be in good shape."
Senior guard
James Lewis Jr. led the way for the orange and blue with a game-high 23 points, and snatched five rebounds on the night.
Fellow senior guards
Jesse Childs and
Alex Davenport also contributed with double-digit performances as well. Childs put up 16 points while Davenport pitched in with 13 points for the Sunbirds.
With the win, the Fresno Pacific improves to 16-5 overall and 6-5 in GSAC play.
