FRESNO, CA. - The Sunbird men's basketball team (3-0) blew out the Bethany Bruins 100-47 Wednesday night at FPU's Special Event Center. Fresno Pacific had five players score in double digits on the way to the big home win over the Cal Pac squad.
Senior guard
James Lewis Jr. led the way for FPU with 22 points while going 9-18 from the field. Senior forward
Todd Brown netted 19 points and was solid in the paint grabbing 7 rebounds. Senior guard
Alex Davenport also had a solid performance putting up 18, while senior center
RouSean Cromwell had 16, and fellow senior center
Craig Ash scored 10 points with 7 boards, respectively.
As a team, the Sunbirds shot 55.6% from the field, 31.8% from behind the arc, and 92% from the free-throw line.
"We are trying to improve and get better ever day," said FPU assistant coach
Chris Wright. "We did some good things tonight but are nowhere close to the level of execution that we need to be."
Fresno Pacific will next travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to face #1 preseason pick Robert Morris University and #9 Westminster in tournament play.
"This weekend will be a good test for us to see exactly where we're at," added Wright.
