FULLERTON, Calif. - On Wednesday afternoon, the Western Water Polo Association announced the latest All-conference team, which included a trio of standout Sunbirds. The WWPA revealed the list ahead of the WWPA Women's Water Polo Championships held in Irvine from April 10-12.
Fresno Pacific's Cook sisters, Maggie and Emma, both earned a spot on the list after their impactful season in the water. Starting center defender
Maggie Cook collected All-Defensive team for the second year in a row, leading the team in total points and assists. She has tallied ten multi-scoring matches, two hat tricks, and a season-high four goals against Redlands. With her sister beside her,
Emma Cook takes over other categories for the 'Birds, specifically goals and exclusions drawn, securing her first All-WWPA First Team selection of her career. The senior center has eleven multi-scoring matches under her belt, a four-game streak where she scored four goals each, and four hat tricks overall.
Alongside the Cook sisters, the sophomore
Dakota Lambert has made incredible strides this season. She was named the WWPA Defensive Player of the Week after scoring 15 goals overall at the Och Tamale Invite. At one point, Lambert tallied six goals in back-to-back games, contributing to the victories over La Verne and Whittier. After being named to the 2025 WWPA All-Freshman team, it makes sense that she would be an All-WWPA Honorable Mention.
The Lady 'Birds are 7-18 overall and 2-6 in the WWPA conference. FPU will be the No. 4 West seed for the WWPA Championships held April 10th-12th. The 'Birds will take on No. 1 East Seed Salem in quarterfinals on Friday, April 10 at 1pm!
