FULL RESULTS
AZUSA, Calif.- In their last chance of the regular season, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds showcased speed and heart at Azusa Pacific's Last Chance Meet Friday and Saturday.
On the men's side, senior
Bo Olsen broke the school record in the 800m with a time of 1:49.07. Also in the 800m,
Aidan Ransom joined teammates Olson,
Emanuel Salas, and
Monte Moore on the top 10 all-time list with his 1:52.48, placing him ninth. Another school record fell as the men's 4x400m relay team of
Zavian Cook,
Shemar Palmer,
Damian Smith, and
Jerome Brown recorded a 3:08.43. In the 100m, Palmer continued his strong season with a 10.23 in the 100m, however due to the wind levels, the time does not qualify for the record books. Freshman
Jonathan Biffle lowered his 400m hurdles time to a 51.65. Salas ran a personal best to lead a wave of Sunbirds in the 1500m in 3:49.42 with teammates
Abesolom Teffra running a personal best of 3:52.35 to move up to eight all-time, with teammate Ransom running a 3:54.07 to add his name to the all-time list. Also running lifetime bests were fellow freshmen Moore (3:56.17) and
Evan Torres (3:57.49).
For the women, the 4x100m relay team of
Riley Allen,
Brianna Green,
Sariyah Copeland, and
Shaniya Randolph ran a second best national time of 44.42, just missing the school record. Senior
Brianna Green became second all-time in the 100m with a blazing time of 11.41. Freshman
Avril Mendoza had a great weekend, lowering both her 100m hurdle and 400m hurdle times to 14.38 and 59.41 respectively, with her 400m hurdles time eighth best in the nation.
UP NEXT
The Sunbirds will wait anxiously for Monday, when the NCAA DII National Championship qualifications will be announced. This years championships will be in Pueblo, Colorado starting on May 22nd.
