FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds women's and men's track team took to various meets across the country to compete this weekend.

DAY ONE

Day one brought an electrifying start for the Sunbird women's hurdles crew, with standout performances led by
Brianna Green, who achieved an impressive personal record in the final of the 60m hurdles event. Not far behind her was
Avril Mendoza, who not only lined up alongside her in the final but also set her own personal best, securing a notable fourth place on the all-time list for Fresno Pacific.Â

Cyan Haslip joined her teammates in celebrating personal victories, as she also recorded a personal best, reinforcing her status as the fourth fastest 60m hurdler in Sunbird history.Â
The true showstopper of the day, however, was
Nydia Chance, who further etched her name into the Fresno Pacific record books by improving her own all-time school record in the 60m dash with a blistering time of 7.41 seconds, narrowly missing the top spot, finishing as a close runner-up in the event.

Senior
Ariana Vera shone brightly as well, clocking a lifetime PR in the 60m during her very first race at the collegiate level, while
Mikiyla Royal matched her feat, achieving a personal best in her debut college race in the same 60m event. The women showcased their strength, skill, and fitness in these early season competition, indicating a promising year ahead.

On the men's side, All-American
Shemar Palmer made an impressive entrance into collegiate track, running his first-ever 60m race and finishing with a personal record of 7.78 seconds, which ties him for the best 60m time in Fresno Pacific history.
Jonathan Biffle continued to demonstrate his dominance in the 60m hurdles, clinching victory at the Wolfpack Classic with a swift time of 8.12 seconds.
Zavian Cook also had a strong performance in the 60m event, contributing to the team's overall success.
DAY TWO
On day two in Reno, the women's team showcased their incredible talent on the track. The highlight of the day came in the women's 400 meters, where
Shaniya Randolph delivered an outstanding performance, clocking in a personal best of 55.45 seconds. This remarkable time not only secured her the top spot for the 'Birds in the event but also placed her sixth on the Fresno Pacific all-time list, a notable achievement in her athletic career.

Following closely behind,
Ariana Vera finished strong as the second competitor for the Sunbirds in the 400 meters, opening her season with an impressive time of 55.62 seconds.
Kenadhi Haslip also made strides in her race, improving her performance to a time of 56.17 seconds and eighth on Fresno Pacific's all time list.

Meanwhile,
Avril Mendoza closed out the event with a commendable time of 57.4 seconds in her season debut, demonstrating solid form right out of the gate.

The women were far from finished, as
Brianna Green shone in the 200 meters, where she sprinted to a remarkable time of 23.9 seconds, setting a strong foundation for her season.
Mikiyla Royal continued her momentum from day one with a notable 200-meter performance of 24.9 seconds.
Shelby Folmer also excelled, cutting down her previous personal best in the 200 meters.
Cyan Haslip took on her first 200 meters, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the sport. Lastly,
Kaitleigh Downing rounded out the 'Birds performances, making her debut as a complete athlete in her season opener.

On the men's side,
Shemar Palmer took home victory in the men's 400 meters, finishing with an impressive time of 47.11 seconds.Â
Adrian Hodges continued his outstanding performance by finishing third, just under a personal best for him.
Malachi Carrasco continued his outstanding performance in the high jump with a solid day. Teammates
Zavian Cook and
Makahri Wadley also contributed strong performances rounding out the men's field with respectable times in their final indoor collegiate competition.Â
FPU THROWERS PENTATHLON
On Saturday, Fresno Pacific played host to collegiate athletes from around the country. For the Sunbirds,Â
Forrest Gray had a massive lifetime best in his season opener in the javelin, throwing 62 meters and improving on his fifth best all-time Fresno Pacific standings.Â
WESTMONT SUNSHINE OPENÂ
In Santa Barbara, winners on the day included freshman
Gianna Menchu in the 600m with a strong time of 1:39.80, and
Mattie Whipple who won the 800m run wire to wire in 2:15.84.
"I couldn't be more proud of this group for their constant professional approach to their craft," said head coach
Robert Foster. "I am looking forward to see what the next chapter brings."
UP NEXT
 A select flight of Sunbirds will head north to the University of Washington's Husky Classic on February 14th to take on elite college and professional talent.
