Sunbirds Took Seattle By Storm

FULL RESULTS

SEATTLE, Wash. 
- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds took the Husky Classic by storm this weekend, recording top place finishes and national leading times. 


DAY ONE

Brianna Green kicked off the Husky Classic for the women's team with a bang, winning the 60m hurdles in blistering time of 8.47, matching her school record. In the 200m, Nydia Chance led the way for the 'Birds with a third place finish followed by teammates Ariana Vera, Shaniya Randolph, and Mikiyla Royal finishing fourth, fifth, and sixth consecutively. 

On the men's side, Malachi Carrasco took top spot in the high jump with a mark of 2.05m/6'8.75. In the triple jump, senior Adrian Hodges placed second with a mark of 14.71m, marking him as the top collegiate finisher. Day one ended for the 'Birds with a third place finish for freshman Jonathan Biffle in the 60m hurdles. 


DAY TWO

Nydia Chance continued her dominant performance from day one with another podium finish, this time taking first in the 60m dash coming in at 7.55. Behind Chance, freshman Riley Arnold made her collegiate debut for the 'Birds, earning a spot in the finals and finishing sixth in 7.69.  Freshman Mattie Whipple ran a 5:00.64 in the full mile, setting the stage for her outdoor season that will have her competing for the top of the all-time Fresno Pacific Sunbirds list. 

Shemar Palmer started day two off for the Sunbirds with a win in the men's 400, coming in at 46.72, a time that ranks him third in the nation. Gus Remlinger made his debut for the Sunbirds, making the finals in the 60m dash after a prelim time of 6.89 and finishing with a 6.92 in the finals. Senior Bo Olsen ran a 1:51.18 in his season debut of the 800m, running a time ranking him #25 in the nation. Lastly, the men's 4x400m relay team made up of Damian Smith, Shemar Palmer, Bo Olsen, and Zavian Cook came out on top finishing with a time of 3:13.61.
