THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's water polo team fell twice on the first day of the Tina Finali Invitational on Friday, dropping a morning match to Indiana 17-3 before stumbling to an 8-6 loss against California Baptist.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
Game 1 

• The Hoosiers opened the game on a 6-0 run before Sam Witt got the Sunbirds on the board. 
• Amy Zaninovich added a goal in the first half, but Indiana carried a 9-2 lead into the halftime break.
• Tatum Benson scored the final goal of the day for FPU in the third quarter. 

 
Game 2  

• The Sunbirds opened the match with goals from Willow Brown and Rosemary Chapman in the first three minutes, but the Lancers answered with three scored of their own. 
• Hannah Gish gave the Blue and Orange a goal to tie the game at 3-3 heading to half. 
• CBU's Vicky Ochoa scored early in the third quarter, but Brown, Witt and Chapman each in the third quarter to give FPU a 6-4 lead. 
• The Lancers scored the final four goals of the day, and the 'Birds were held scoreless in the fourth quarter.    

 
STATS FROM THE DAY:  

• Camryn Berra picked up a total of 20 saves in the cage for FPU. 
• Chapman and Brown each totaled three goals for the day.   

 
BEYOND THE BOX:  

• Witt leads the team with 23 goals as one of four Sunbirds with at least ten on the season. 
• Berra is averaging 10 saves per match.
