LA VERNE, Calif. – Fresno Pacific found itself on the wrong end of a sudden-death overtime thriller on Saturday afternoon, falling 13-12 on the road to La Verne. FPU scored twice in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime, but the Leopards emerged victorious in the third overtime period.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Goals from Sam Witt and Alex Jasso in the final two minutes of regulation tied the game at 12, paving the way for two fiercely contested scoreless overtime periods. Jassmine Kezman scored the game-winner for ULV after the overtime moved into the sudden-death format.

• A Katie Kisling goal in the fourth quarter put the Sunbirds up 10-9, a lead that would hold past the five-minute mark before three consecutive Leopard goals.

• FPU trailed 5-4 at half, but quickly tied the game on a Madison Jacques goal early in the third. The teams proceeded to trade goals for the remainder of the third quarter.

STATS FROM THE DAY:

• Witt finished her day with a team-high four goals for Fresno Pacific, while Jasso and Kisling added two apiece.

• Camryn Berra totaled 10 saves in the cage and helped hold ULV scoreless for more than 15 minutes between the end of the fourth quarter and the subsequent overtime periods.

• Witt and Lily Dinis each tallied three steals for the Sunbirds in the loss.
