FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific baseball team broke out the offense in a big way on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader from Point Loma with 12-6 and 12-5 wins. The Sunbirds have now scored 12 runs in a game three times this season and have won seven of their last nine.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Blue and Orange wasted no time in the opener, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings to take an early 6-0 lead.
• Point Loma got a three-run homer from PacWest home run leader Micah Pries to cut the deficit in half, but
Adam Aleman and
Nick Dodd each drove in a run the following inning to put in front 8-3.
•
Jared Aguilar added another run in the fourth with a single up the middle, and
Tristen Alvarez singles through the left side in the fifth to swell the lead to 10-3.
• FPU added two more in the sixth before the Sea Lions got three back in the top of the ninth, but the Sunbirds were able to close it out and win the opener.
• The offense never lost a step, striking for three runs over the first two innings of the nightcap before busting it all the way open with a five-run third.
• An RBI groundout and Pries' second homer of the day helped PLNU cut it to 8-3, but Aguilar capped a four-run Sunbird eighth with his first collegiate home run to provide all the insurance FPU would need.
STATS FROM THE DAY
•
Ross Dodds went 6-for-9 with four doubles and four RBI for the day, while Aleman, Dodd, Alvarez and
Garrett Cooper each picked up at least four hits of their own.
• Alvarez' six RBI was a team-high on Friday, and he finished a homer shy of the cycle in the nightcap.
