SAN DIEGO – The Fresno Pacific women's water polo team wrapped competition at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego on Sunday afternoon, falling to #24 Bucknell 17-3 before dropping their final match 21-4 to #17 Long Beach State.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One
• The Bison controlled the game early, receiving goals from 10 different players, including five goals from Ally Furano.
• Two goals from
Katie Kisling and a chip in by
Emma McBride put FPU on the board, but the Sunbirds couldn't keep pace with their nationally ranked foe, ultimately falling 17-3.

Game Two
• Long Beach State started hot, scoring the first six goals of the game while holding the Sunbirds scoreless through the first quarter.
• Back-to-back goals by
Amy Zaninovich put FPU on the board in the second, but the 49ers ended the half on a 3-0 scoring run to bring the tally to 9-2.
• The Sunbirds managed to score two more on shots by
Zaylynn Mangrum and
Jenna Collins, but the LBSU offense didn't let up, tacking on 12 goals of their own through the final two frames. End Score: 21-4.

• Bucknell outshot Fresno Pacific 23-15 and converted an impressive 74 percent of their attempts.Â

Gracie Bishop totaled seven saves for the FPU defense in the afternoon match up.

• Over the past four games, Zaninovich led all Sunbird scorers with five goals.
• Bishop tallied 26 saves over the weekend, good for second place in saves totaled amongst all goaltenders at the Aztec Invitational.
