OAKLAND, Calif. –The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) announced the seedings for the 2018 Championships on Monday afternoon with Fresno Pacific receiving the four seed.

The WWPA Championships will be hosted by UC San Diego on April 27-29 at Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, Calif.

The Sunbirds (10-16, 4-3 WWPA) will face Sonoma State, who was given the fifth seed, for the third time this season in the second game of the tournament on Friday, April 27 at 12:45 p.m. FPU defeated the Seawolves twice this season by the same score of 11-10.

UCSD, the six-time defending champion, received the number one seed and will face eighth-seeded McKendree to open the tourney. Cal State East Bay (second seed) will face Gannon (seventh), while Mercyhurst (third) will take on Cal State Monterey Bay (sixth) in the other two first-round matchups.
