Emma McBride each scored three goals on Friday afternoon, but the Sunbirds were ultimately tripped up by Cal State East Bay by a final of 19-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After falling behind 1-0 early, the Sunbirds answered with three goals out of the hands of three different players.
• Fresno Pacific moved in front 6-2 near the end of the first quarter, but the Pioneers followed with a run of six straight goals before the half ran out.
• Ponce wasted no time in the third quarter, tying the game less than a minute in before McBride gave the Sunbirds a 9-8 lead less than a minute later.
• CSUEB scored five goals in the final quarter to pull away and hang on for the victory.

Sam Witt scored a pair of goals to maintain her team lead (36) in that category for the season.

Madeline Frey picked up five saves between the posts, while Pioneer counterpart Makenna Nation tallied 12 before leaving the game.
