ABOUT THE SUNBIRDS
• Fresno Pacific will look to snap a seven-game skid when the Sunbirds face California Baptist on Saturday. FPU currently sits at 5-20 overall and 3-14 in conference play. The 'Birds most recently fell to Hawai'i Pacific at home last Saturday, 86-66. Sam Burt led the Sunbirds with 20 points, while Sam Holmes chipped in with 12 points and four threes.

• The Sunbirds were picked to finish 11th in the 2017-18 Pacific West Conference standings according to a poll of the league's head coaches. California Baptist received 178 points and 10 first-place votes to top the poll. Dixie State was second with 169 points and two first-place votes. Following the two were Point Loma and Concordia in third and fourth, respectively. The Sea Lions garnered 161 points and two first-place votes, while the Eagles amassed 154 points. Rounding out the poll was Azusa Pacific (142 points), Chaminade (132), Hawai'i Pacific (121), Dominican (94), Biola (79), Hawai'i Hilo (72), FPU (63), Holy Names (43), Academy of Art (37) and Notre Dame de Namur (25).

ABOUT THE LANCERS
• California Baptist is currently ranked 20th in the NABC Coaches' Poll. The Lancers are currently 21-4 overall and 14-3 in league play. CBU has won seven straight, most recently defeating Chaminade on Thursday 90-76 at home.
• The Lancers currently lead the PacWest in scoring (83.2 ppg), field-goal percentage (.478), three-point field goal percentage defense (.303), rebounding (42.5), assist to turnover ratio (1.25) and assists per game (16.64). Kalidou Diof ranks third in the conference in scoring (18.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg) to lead CBU, while Jordan Heading ranks second on the team in scoring (13.0 ppg).
 
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday's game will be the 82nd meeting between the two programs, with CBU holding a 48-33 all-time series advantage. The Lancers defeated the Sunbirds 85-70 on Jan. 23, 2017 in the last meeting.
