FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team is scheduled for two road games this week, taking on #14 Azusa Pacific on Thursday before facing Biola on Saturday evening. With a pair of wins, the Sunbirds would be alone atop the PacWest Conference standings.

About the Sunbirds (9-1-1, 4-1-0 PacWest)
After defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills 5-1 in non-conference action on Thursday night, FPU outlasted Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday to extend their winning streak to six games. Senior midfielderAnthony Velarde was named the PacWest Player of the Week after recording nine points for the week and tying the league's career assist record. The Blue and Orange shared the wealth last week, as six Sunbirds found the back of the net.

About the Cougars (10-1-1, 5-0-0 PacWest)
A loss to UCSD on Sept. 1 remains the lone blemish on APU's record, but the Brick and Black have rattled off a 10-game unbeaten streak since. Midfielder Gabriel Costa has turned in a remarkable freshman campaign, entering this week tied with Velarde for the league lead in points. APU's back line has also been impressive this fall, limiting opponents to a league-best 1.25 scores per game.

Biola 
About the Eagles (5-6-1, 3-2-0 PacWest)
The Eagles defeated Hawai'i Pacific 1-0 last Thursday before falling to Chaminade by the same score two days later. Luis Rodriguez has been one of the premier keepers in the PacWest this season, racking up twice as many saves as goals allowed. In each of their five wins so far this fall, Biola has got on the scoreboard first.
