Fresno Pacific went toe-to-toe with the region's top team, #6 California Baptist, on Thursday but suffered a doubleheader sweep by scores of 5-2 and 6-1.
Game 1
Fresno Pacific surrendered three runs in the top of the ninth to fall to #6 California Baptist 5-2 in game one of Thursday's doubleheader. The Sunbirds received a quality outing from freshman

The Sunbirds (20-23, 15-14) opened the game with two runs in the first with RBI singles from
Joey Gallegos and
Derek Arkelian. FPU held the lead until the fifth inning when CBU's Stephen Lohr drove in two with a single up the middle. The Lancers (35-9, 25-5) then scratched three across in the ninth with their only hit coming on a bunt single.
Garcia finished the evening with a no-decision despite throwing seven innings on two-run ball for FPU. He struck out one and pitched around five walks.
