Fresno Pacific dropped the final game of its PacWest series with Azusa Pacific 12-5, splitting the four-game set with the visiting Cougars. The Sunbirds (10-15, 5-6 PacWest) led 5-2 after four innings but it was all APU from that point on as the Cougars scored in each of the final five innings for a total of 10 unanswered runs.
FPU had 15 hits to APU's 14, but left 12 runners on base in the loss.
Rickie Garcia pitched into the seventh inning for the Sunbirds, striking out six, but took the loss. The FPU bullpen surrendered five runs while APU's Dillon Miyashiro tossed four scoreless innings to earn the save.
Preston Scott went 2-for-5 with an RBI, extending his hitting streak to 20 games, and
Leo Carrillo capped off a great series for the Sunbirds by going 3-for-3 with two walks.

Derek Arkelian and
Davy Vartanian each had multi-hit games as well.
Michael Goudreau led the Cougars, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. APU moved to 7-5 in PacWest play.
The Sunbirds are back in action next week, hosting Hawaii Hilo on Thursday and Friday.
