FPU drops to 2-4 overall on the year after the setback, while SSU moves to 3-8. The Seawolves are currently receiving votes in the national poll.

Julia Ponce led the Sunbirds with four goals, while
Emily Marr added two scores.
Mikayla Scheer and
Hannah Holly rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece.
Kaitlin Fletcher added two assists offensively.

Courtney Hall amassed 12 saves in the cage for the Sunbirds defensively.

FPU trailed 3-0 after the opening period, but jumped back into the game with a four-goal second quarter. The difference came in the third quarter as the Sunbirds were held scoreless to trail 7-4 ahead of the final period. SSU closed out the win with three scores despite FPU finding the back of the cage four times.

"We played better today, but couldn't finish our opportunities," said head coach
Bryan Suhovy. "It wasn't the weekend we hoped for, but we did show some improvement. We have some work ahead of us to get ready for next weekend."

The Sunbirds will travel to the Tina Finali invitational in Thousand Oaks on Friday and Saturday. FPU will face Siena and Redlands to begin the four-game weekend.
