HAYWARD, Calif. – Fresno Pacific's struggles continued on Friday, as the Sunbirds dropped game two of the four-game set with Cal State East Bay, 19-7.

FPU falls to 5-6 overall on the year, while the Pioneers move to 7-2. CSUEB now leads the four-game series 2-0 ahead of Saturday's doubleheader at Pioneer Field.

The Sunbirds fell behind 16-0 after four innings before jumping on the scoreboard with five runs in the fifth. CSUEB would go on to score three more times en route to the lopsided victory.

The Pioneers totaled 26 hits on the evening and chased FPU starter
Jake Martinez in the fourth. CSUEB scored at least one run in the first seven innings of the game, which totaled 13 straight frames dating back to the third inning of Thursday's series opener.Â

Preston Scott finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two walks for the Sunbirds. The senior also moved into first on FPU's all-time triples list, passing former Sunbird Adam Alva in the fifth inning when he recorded his ninth career triple.
Rickie Garcia continued his hot streak with the bat and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while freshmanÂ
Tristen Alvarez picked up his first career hit and finished 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Martinez took the loss on the hill, while
Kellen Hackett threw 4.2 innings out of the bullpen with two strikeouts.

Rudy Navarro led the Pioneers with six RBI on two hits, while Dakota Conners went 5-for-6 with two RBI.

The Sunbirds will look to salvage a series split tomorrow, as the two teams play a doubleheader with a start time of 11 a.m.
