"This was a very physical game and it demanded us to step up," said head coach
Rob Podeyn. "I felt like we got stronger through the second half and through overtime. Even though we went down to 10 players and played a man down we still out-possessed them and created more scoring chances than they did. Cal Baptist is a very good program, but I think this showed the girls that we are every bit as good as the best teams in our conference."
FPU out-shot CBU 22-16. Sara Escobedo made 12 saves in goal for the Lancers. The Sunbirds are back in action next Wednesday, traveling to the Bay Area to take on Holy Names in a game that will be held at Cal State East Bay.
