HAYWARD, Calif. - Fresno Pacific scored two second-half goals to come from behind and defeat Holy Names 2-1 in PacWest action on Wednesday. After the Hawks took a 1-0 lead 15 minutes in,
Rachelle Schiller scored in the 51st minute to tie it.
Alyssa Nakaguchi scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute.
Bianka Garcia had two assists for the Sunbirds while
Sassy Weigant and
Amber Rodriguez each added one.
"After a slow start we recovered to control play and claim our eighth win of the season. It was good to see us fight back after not starting strong. We fought our way back into the game and really shut them down in the second half. It was good to see us respond the way we did. With this win we have guaranteed ourselves a winning record for the season. Our goal is now focused on trying to reach 10 wins."
The Sunbirds improved to 8-5-2, 6-3-2 in the PacWest. The Hawks dropped to 5-9 overall, 3-7 in PacWest play.
FPU out-shot HNU 21-8 in the win.
The Sunbirds host Concordia at 5 pm this Saturday.
