Prior to FPU - Played one season at Cal State East Bay, starting 14 games in goal and recording three shutouts, including one vs. FPU....spent two seasons at Evergreen Valley College helping team win conference title in 2012 and earning first team all-conference honors....played four seasons of varsity soccer at Live Oak High School under coach Tony Vasquez.

Personal - Daughter of Kelly Gates....has one brother, Ian....chose FPU to finish out her senior year in a Christian atmosphere....favorite food is chicken....listens to country music....favorite athlete is Mia Hamm.....hobbies include working out, being outdoors and drawing....Selena is a health science major with plans of becoming a nutritionist with an emphasis on battling childhood obesity.
