ST. GEORGE, Utah - Fresno Pacific had no answer for the PacWest's top team on Friday as the Sunbirds' conference E.R.A.-leading pitching staff was roughed up for 19 runs over two games. FPU (30-18, 18-12 PacWest) has now dropped three straight after winning 11 consecutive games heading into the series.

Sunbird pitchers issued 10 walks and hit five batters in the two losses as neither Drew Merlo or Wilson Ashford were able to get past the fourth inning. 

Baron Bower had two hits in each game to lead the Sunbird lineup. Joshua Banuelos went 2-for-4 in game one while John Koretoff went 3-for-3 with a solo homer in game two. Kaohu Gaspar went 2-for-4 in the second game.

The Red Storm (35-14, 26-5) have already clinched the regular season PacWest championship. The teams conclude the four-game series tomorrow at 11 am local time, 10 am Pacific.
