OAKLAND, Calif. - FPU made quick work of Holy Names on Thursday, playing every player on the roster in a 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-19, 25-21).
The Sunbirds (10-6, 4-3 PacWest) hit .400 with just one error in the first set and never looked back from there, taking set two 25-19 and winning the third set 25-21 with its second-team on the floor.
"We played really well tonight and we were consistent," said head coach
Kelly Winter. "We didn't give up many points and really made them earn every point they got. Everybody got into the game tonight and every single player contributed. It was a good team win."
Rupia Inck had 14 kills and hit .481 in the win, while
Morghan Williams and
Kathleen Anderson added 10 kills apiece.
Hannah Butler continued her strong defensive play, leading the team with 16 digs.
Bissie DenHartog dished out 20 assists and
Sarah McCann added 19.
Gabriela Macedo finished with nine kills and nine digs.
Melissa Munley had 10 kills for the Hawks (1-15, 1-9 PacWest).
FPU hit .283 on the night while holding HNU to a .209 attack percentage.
The two teams meet up again this Saturday at FPU at 7 pm.
