Game 1 vs. Azusa Pacific
Game 2 vs. California Baptist
Fresno Pacific closed out a long season with a pair of losses at the Lancer Mini Invitational in Riverside.
Senior All-American Dani Mortimer registered seven goals for the Sunbirds; freshman Emily Marr poured in two and senior Jenn Cobb and freshman Candice Cobarrubias each scored one.
Kelsie Harvey stopped 24 shots on the day including 17 in game one against California Baptist.
The Sunbirds fell behind early in game one to Azusa Pacific, the team that beat them last weekend in the CCAA Invitational. The Cougars scored three goals in the first quarter on route to a 5-2 lead at the half.
APU scored three in each the third and fourth quarters as FPU struggled to keep up in the 11-6 loss.
In game two the Sunbirds were unable to use a fantastic performance in goal from Harvey to catapult them to their third win.
Solid defense and timely scoring kept Fresno Pacific in the game. After trailing by two at the half, goals by Marr and Mortimer kept the deficit at just two heading into the fourth.
The Sunbirds kept pace in the fourth, but couldn't mount a comeback in their final match of the season.
FPU finishes a tough season in which they finished 2-23 due to a lack of depth and injuries.
