The Sunbirds played tough but lost to NCAA #16 UC Davis 18-6 at Sunnyside High School on Friday. 

"We accomplished the goals that we set before the game," said head coach Bryan Suhovy. "Davis is a great team. It was a chance for us to gain some experience before our games on Saturday."

The Sunbird's goals came from Michelle Kaplan, Jenn Wolter, Niccolette Haley, Jenna Morris, Brittney Guerrero, and Melissa Perry. Charissa Gurnea and Dani Mortimer split time in the cage, posting 4 and 5 saves, respectively. 

The Aggies controlled the game from the first sprint, taking a large lead after the first quarter. The Sunbirds were able to curb Davis' scoring effort by the end of the game though, as each team scored two goals in the fourth quarter. 

Fresno Pacific will travel to Bakersfield on Saturday to face Brown and Redlands.
