Box Score
Nothing seemed to go right Thursday night for Fresno Pacific as the Sunbirds dropped to 0-5 in the GSAC with a 66-46 home loss to Concordia.
The Sunbirds struggled on offense and turned the ball over 25 times. The team made just 1-of-15 from three-point range and even struggled from the free-throw line, a rarity for the Sunbirds, who shot a season-low 62 percent from the line.
Concordia capitalized on Sunbird mistakes and played stifling defense, at one point holding the Sunbirds to just one field goal over a near 16-minute span in the first half.
Nicole Fu led the Eagles with 15 points, while Patrice Hunter added 13. Karen Carney had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Britnie Priest finished with 11 points for the Eagles (9-3, 4-2 GSAC).
Jenay Herring scored 17 points for the Sunbirds, continuing a run that has seen her score 17 or more in each of the last five games. Jessica Torrecillas added 12 points and eight rebounds. The Sunbirds got just one point from their bench, while the Eagles finished with 17 bench points.
FPU will hit the road this weekend and look for its first conference win on Saturday at Hope International (9-6, 1-4).
