DAVIS, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (3-19) had some tough competition right off their home losses to Concordia and University of Pacific. The Sunbirds keep improving, but still fell to UC Davis and Harvard 1-12 and 4-7, respectively.
Dani Mortimer had a strong day for the Sunbirds again, but was not enough for the Sunbirds to take down their NCAA Div. I opponents. Mortimer had 28 saves on the day with 17 saves coming against Davis.
Coach
Bryan Suhovy explained, “We showed up ready to play in the Davis game. When we played them two years ago it was a 22-1 loss [in 2008].”
“This year we held them to four goals in the first half and finished the game 12-1. I was really happy with how we played and progress we have made this season and as a program since the beginning,” concluded Coach Suhovy.
Borbala Toth led the Sunbirds with two goals, one in each game.
The Sunbirds will head to Riverside for the Cal Baptist Tournament this Friday and Saturday, March 19-20. The Sunbirds' first game will be against George Washington at 8 a.m.
