FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (1-11) struggled to keep up with Cal Baptist in their 5-16 loss to the Lancers on Thursday.  Despite only trailing 2-3 after the first quarter, Cal Baptist pulled away to a 4-9 lead at halftime and a 4-16 lead after the third.

The Sunbirds were outscored 0-7 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Head Coach Brian Suhovy commented, “We played great in the first half, but CBU's experience took over in the second half, and we just couldn't keep up with them.”

Katie Rayner led the Sunbirds with three goals while Nicolette Haley and Brittney Guerrero each had a goal as well.

Dani Mortimer had four saves for the game.

The Sunbirds will travel to Santa Barbara next to take on No. 12 UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, March 4.  The game will begin at 6 p.m.
