Sunbirds close out GSAC schedule with sweep of Westmont

Box Score

Martina Gregusova had 17 kills, Erica Adachi added 30 assists and Lisa Shilling had a season-high 10 blocks as Fresno Pacific defeated Westmont 25-15, 25-21, 25-10 to close out the GSAC schedule with a 19-1 record.

With the conference title already in the bag, the Sunbirds were able to rest some players and try out different formations.

"I was pleased with how we were able to play efficiently using an alternative lineup," said Janzen. "This was a great road win as we look to get healthy before nationals."

FPU used only eight players in the victory and got contributions from all over. The Sunbirds hit .309 as a group, led by Keke Wang and Karah Mitchell who each registered a .583 attack percentage.

Mariah Mandelbaum had 13 digs and Gregusova added 10.

The Sunbirds held the Warriors (14-15, 8-12 GSAC) to .040 hitting on the day, including a negative .125 in the final set. No Westmont player finished in double figures in kills or digs.

FPU returns home for its regular season finale and senior night on Tuesday at 7 pm against Cal State Bakersfield, a team the Sunbirds swept on the road earlier this season.

The team will celebrate the careers of seniors Shilling, Wang, Mandelbaum, Brianna Baronian, Jessica Berg and Michelle Johnson.
