#6 Sunbirds Can't Keep Up With #11 Concordia; Fall 88-51

IRVINE, Calif. - The #6 Sunbird men's basketball team (17-2 GSAC, 24-5) had trouble keeping up with #11 Concordia University (15-4 GSAC, 24-5) Saturday evening, losing to the Eagles 88-51. Fresno Pacific suffers just its second loss in GSAC play and has already clinched the Conference title.

In the first half, FPU had trouble finding a rhythm early-on shooting 40.7% (11-27) from the field and 30% (3-10) from three-point distance. The Sunbirds went into the halftime break trailing 40-26, and were unable to turn it around in the second half.

Fresno Pacific's shooting percentages dropped even further in the second period to 30% (6-20) from the field and 20% (1-5) from behind the arc which allowed the Eagles to extend their lead and go on to win by 37 points.

The nationally ranked Sunbirds will look to rebound this week and travel to The Master's College to face the Mustangs in a final regular season conference game Monday, March 2nd in Santa Clarita, CA. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30PM.
