FRESNO, Calif. - There's more to every athlete than the name on the back of their jersey, more to every coach than the wins and losses, and more to every team than what happens on game day. Now, Fresno Pacific Athletics is teaming up with Fresno's KSEE24 and CBS47 to tell those stories like never before.

Fresno Pacific University Athletics is proud to announce the launch of Sunbird Insider, an exciting new television series hosted by KSEE24 and CBS47 Sports Director Scott Bemis. Combining the access of a behind-the-scenes documentary with the personality and entertainment of a sports magazine show, Sunbird Insider will offer fans an up-close look at the student-athletes, coaches and personalities who make Fresno Pacific Athletics special.

Through candid conversations, in-depth interviews, student-athlete spotlights and topical team updates, the series will bring viewers closer to the action while showcasing the compelling stories, unique personalities and experiences that extend far beyond the games.

New episodes will air Thursdays at Noon PT on KSEE24 (NBC) and again Sundays at 5:30pm PT on CBS47 beginning this weekend. All episodes of the series will stream globally on-demand via the free KSEE24/CBS47+ app, accessible on Amazon Fire TV, Roku TV, Apple TV, and Samsung TV Plus.

But Sunbird Insider isn't only sports talk. The show will also feature a collection of entertaining original segments designed to reveal a different side of the Sunbirds, including:

• Sunbird Spotlight: A current FPU student-athlete tells the story of their journey to Fresno in a quick, rapid-fire style.
• Best of the Nest: Catching up with Sunbird Alumni and Hall of Famers, celebrating their accomplishments and discovering where life has taken them beyond Fresno Pacific.
• Hot Mic: Giving viewers a front-row seat to the unscripted, unfiltered conversations and candid moments of Sunbird athletes and coaches during a weekly practice.
• Bemis vs Birds: Putting host Scott Bemis to the test as he goes head-to-head with Sunbird student-athletes and coaches in a series of lighthearted, competitive challenges.

This series and partnership represent another major step in taking our brand to new heights not just in Fresno and the Valley, but across the country and beyond thanks to the global reach of the KSEE24/CBS47+ app."

The collaboration represents an exciting new chapter in the relationship between Fresno Pacific and the Central Valley media community, combining the storytelling experience and broadcast reach of KSEE24 and CBS47 with unprecedented access to the people and programs at FPU Athletics. With Bemis at the helm, the series will blend insightful sports journalism with humor, personality, and the kind of authentic moments that fans rarely get to see.

Above all, Sunbird Insider aims to celebrate the people behind the performances, strengthen the connection between Fresno Pacific and the greater community, and introduce new audiences to the passion, purpose and pride that define the Sunbird experience. Because there's more to the Sunbirds than meets the eye, and now everyone gets an inside look.
