Coming In Hot: FPU Sign Coveted Hoops Transfer

FRESNO, Calif. - Head Coach C.J. Haydock announced the signing of transfer Amar Hot for the 25-26 season.

The 6'0" transfer point guard comes to the Sunbirds from Saint Leo University in Florida, where he posted averages of 10.2 points and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting 38% from three in his sophomore campaign.

"I chose FPU because of how much the institution and program values each individual," Hot said. "It's not just being an athlete or student, it's about developing yourself and being the best version possible."

A native of Montenegro, Amar comes to the Sunbirds with two years of eligibility, and sporting a 3.6 GPA. Prior to his time in the Sunshine State Conference, he competed with the Montenegro national team.

"We identified Amar early as the ideal fit as both a player and elite human," Haydock said. "His alignment on and off the floor was exemplary from day one, and he's an absolute winner. His ability to shoot it at a high level, his willingness as a passer, and his experience playing at an elite level is going to be very additive immediately."

Hot's career in Navy and Orange will commence in the fall of '25, and he will join a Sunbirds team that features 12 returners, including their three3 leading scorers. He joins previously announced Freshman signees Loukas Jones and Abram Potts in a deep and talented group of guards on the 'birds roster.

"I am most looking forward to getting better every day with my guys," Hot continued. "I can't wait to grow on and off the court, and learn from our coaches and professors."
