KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its annual Team Excellence Awards and Honor Court recipients for the 2024-25 season on Thursday, and six members of the Fresno Pacific Men's Basketball team were featured.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher. Meanwhile, the NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student players who finished the 2024-25 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Members of the Sunbirds' men's basketball roster from 2024-25 to receive Honor Court recognition include Cooper Sheldon, Gabriel Quiette, Jaden Geron, Jonah Geron, Ryan Abbott, and Ryas Vang. This year's selection also marks graduate student Jonah Geron's third straight selection.
Fresno Pacific also won the Academic Team Excellence Award for the second time in the last three seasons. It's given to programs that achieve at least a 3.0 GPA across their roster. The Sunbirds' GPA was 3.44 last year.
