FRESNO, Calif. - Head Coach C.J. Haydock announced the signing of local star Loukas Jones of Clovis North High School.
 
The 6'3" guard comes to the Sunbirds after a storied career for one of the top high school programs in the state of California. A multiple-time section and league champion, Jones was named Most Valuable Player of the valley's premier high school league, the TRAC, in his senior campaign.
 
"I chose FPU because I love the culture of the program," Jones said. "The coaches have truly shown that they want to coach me and believe in me. I came to several games and loved watching how much the guys enjoyed playing and how much they enjoyed each other's successes."
 
Jones prepped under legendary local head coach Tony Amundsen at Clovis North, and competed with Lakeshow for his club ball. His father, notable FPU alumnus John Jones, also filled a crucial role in coaching both teams.
 
"Loukas is another underappreciated hooper from Fresno who is a winner in every way," Haydock said. "We are thrilled he wants to represent our city. He's got a dynamic ability to score the ball, he's a skilled playmaker for others, and he's competed at the highest of levels."
 
Jones career in Navy and Orange will commence in the fall of 2025, and he will join a Sunbirds team that features 12 returners, including their three leading scorers. He will become next in a long line of successful Fresno natives who chose to represent their hometown under Coach Haydock.
 
"I am most looking forward to really just enjoying the journey ahead and the process of how things will work out for me," Jones continued. "I'm also really looking forward to winning with this FPU team. Winning means so much to me and I truly want to help this team in any way possible. I'm also looking forward my growth as not just a basketball player but as a person."
