MONTEREY PARK, Calif.- The PCSC Championships came to a close Saturday as the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds men's team finished in third place with 1,352 points, while the women's team placed eighth with 374 points.
Jackson Calloway kicked off the finals for the men with a fourth place finish in the 1650 free, recording a time of 15.55.22, falling just short of the podium by under three seconds. Continuing his dominance in the pool
Rasmus Hanson took top spot in the 100 free at 44.05, with freshman
Olivier Petre coming in just behind in sixth. The trio of
Tony Montes,
Theo Schiesari, and
Maximillian Pecile finished five, six, eight respectively in the 200 back. In the last event of the championships, the team of Hanson, Petre,
Sully Moore, and
August Ottesen fell just short by .07 seconds placing second in the men's 400 yard free relay.
For the women,
Charlotte Wilbers continued her strong week with another top ten performance, finishing ninth in the 100 yard free, first in the "B" finals. Another "B" finalist, senior
Lele Dias recorded a 14th place finish in the 200 back. The team of Wilbers,
Jillian Lambert, Dias, and
Hermione Roe ended the championships for the women with a tenth place in the 400 yard free.
At the conclusion of the championships, Hanson received top honors, Male Swimmer of the Meet.

The Sunbirds will wait to see who will make the cut for the NCAA DII Swimming and Diving Championships, March 11-15 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indy in Indianapolis, IN.
