MONTEREY PARK, Calif.- It was another day filled with podium finishes for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on day three of the PCSC Championships at the East Los Angeles Swim Stadium.
The pair of Sunbird captains,
Maximillian Pecile and
Jackson Calloway finished second and third respectively in the 500 free, coming in within .44 seconds of each other. In the 100 yard backstroke,
Martin Beitveit recorded a podium finish coming in third with teammate
Tony Montes following in sixth. The 'Birds dominated in the 100 backstroke, with Neil Mauss taking the top spot with a time of 56.14. Behind Mauss,
Anton Svensson took third,
Nico Barna fourth,
Parker McCarty sixth, with
Botond Navratil rounding it out in eighth. In the last individual event of the day,
Rasmus Hanson continued his PCSC Championship dominance with a second place finish in 200 butterfly, with
James Robinson right behind in fourth. Rounding out the day, the team of Beitveit, Svensson,
Sully Moore, and
August Ottesen took top spot in the 200 medley relay with a blistering time of 1:30.52.
Charlotte Wilbers kicked off the day for the women's team, securing an 11th place finish, third in the "B" final, in the 500 free with a time of 5:10.41. Freshman
Hermione Roe recorded the women's highest finish of the day coming in 9th in the 100 yard backstroke, taking first place in the "B" final. Roe followed up her previous performance with another ninth place, first place "B" finals finish, this time in the 100 breaststroke, with teammate
Lele Dias behind in 16th. The Sunbirds ended the day with the relay team of Wilbers, Dias,
Lili Sramko, and
Jillian Lambert taking seventh place in the 200 medley relay.
The Sunbirds will wrap up the PCSC Championships on Saturday.
