FRESNO, Calif.- The newest addition to the Men's Basketball coaching staff is a familiar face to Fresno Pacific, former Sunbird Sean Nealon-Lino.
One of the most storied players in the Coach Haydock era, Nealon-Lino played an instrumental part in the building of the program, leading the 2020-2021 team to the first NCAA tournament in school history, and following that up with a senior campaign in 2021-2022 that saw the Sunbird ranked as high as fourth in the west region, achieving multiple weeks in the Top 25 in the country in the NABC poll, and the first conference tournament appearance in school history.
Prior to FPU, Nealon-Lino had a storied international career, representing both Scotland and Great Britain in a variety of FIBA competitions. He matriculated from Barking Abbey in London, where he played under esteemed coach Lloyd Gardner.
Nealon-Lino achieved both his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and his Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership during his time at FPU. Upon completion of his playing career, he spent two years as an assistant coach at local high school powerhouse San Joaquin Memorial under legendary high school coach Brad Roznovsky.
"Sean was a culture changer as a player, and we know he's going to be the same as a coach on our staff," Haydock said. "His relentless energy and work ethic, his deep competitive drive, and his innate leadership abilities will enhance our program greatly."
Nealon-Lino will be the Assistant Coach for Recruitment and Standard Optimization.
