Box Score ATHERTON, Calif. - It was a third consecutive draw for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds who faced off against the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks Saturday afternoon.
The Sunbirds put the pressure on the Lumberjacks early recording a shot in the first minute followed by four more in the first half.
Cal Poly Humboldt also kep the Sunbirds on the defense recording six shots of their own.
The first half ended neither team being able to find the back of the net.
Fresno Pacific was awarded a penalty kick in the 50th minute which
Lucas Ribeiro converted giving the Sunbirds the lead.
The 'Birds played lock-down defense until the Lumberjacks broke through in the 78th minute evening the score 1-1.
After conceding the goal, the Sunbirds went back on the offensive recording four more shots but came up unsuccessful ending the match in a 1-1 draw.
The game ended with Cal Poly Humboldt having a slight edge in shots 16 to 14.
Elmer Carballo was active in the goal making seven saves to keep the Lumberjacks scoring to a minimum.
